Patriotic Feedback

How dare our elected representatives say the public's feedback concerning pending health care reform is “simply un-American”?!

If elected officials strike a topic near and dear to the public’s heart, they should have anticipated Newton's law of reciprocal actions: “To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” The American public’s “ugly campaign” of zealous protests, vigorous discussions and candid questions is simply the natural movement of concerned American citizens (as has been the case throughout American history for impassioned matters such as civil rights and women’s suffrage).

In this month alone, several service members have paid the ultimate sacrifice protecting the very freedoms our elected officials question. What are our family members fighting for if we do not have the right to freedom of speech, to fervently question and robustly object to policies that could impact millions?

Just as you support your service member, remember to support one of the basic freedoms they and your families are sacrificing for: America's right to speak freely without censorship or limitation!

God bless our veterans and military families! God bless America!

Truly, as members of the "Silent Ranks" not only are our opinions not often heard , but it seems never asked by our media. I am very happy you are speaking up for all of us in your blog. Your pride is contagious and you are a wonderful example to all of us that we have a voice, and we should use it! Indeed, our men and women in uniform are sacrificing for all of us in this great country to fight for what we believe in, and for our freedom to speak up loudly for our beliefs, opinions, and rights. It perplexes me how in this country it seems to be one sided on who can protest or proclaim their unhappiness with our government. Thank you so much Tanya for speaking up for our men and women in uniform and all the rights they fight for! Semper fiesty, Mollie Gross Military Wife Comedy www.molliegross.com

So, true. The sad truth is there seems to be an intellectual snobery associated with the new leadership. It can be seen in the way Congressmen are reacting to the public and through the actions of cabinet members who dress down CEOs of private business or show no respect for their predicessors. Even the President made a incredibly arrogant comment when he said, "This administration is facing greater challenges than any before". I wonder what Lincoln would say, or FDR or perhaps Washington. Governments run by elitist are a very dangerous thing.
