Why advertise in Military Spouse magazine and on MilSpouse.com?

A better question is “why wouldn’t you advertise in Military Spouse magazine and on MilSpouse.com?”

Some of you may be thinking…

That you already reach this market through other means, or that this isn’t a very big consumer market, or that you don’t advertise in niche media, or that you spend your marketing dollars on coupons or other “off-the-shelf” promotions…

We’re all familiar with the adage “don’t judge a book by it’s cover.”  If you subscribe to that philosophy, then you should take some time to learn the facts of the military spouse consumer market before you discount it.  You will find it to be a very worthwhile return on your investment.  Here’s why:

1. It’s a bigger market than you think. *In fact, there are 1.1 million active and reserve military spouses plus another 20 million former military spouses.

2. It’s a lucrative market.  *Active and reserve military families enjoy a household income that is 35% higher than the U.S. average:  $65,000 versus a U.S. HHI of $48,000.

3. It’s a young market. *The median age of a military spouse is 30.  These are young women, starting families and making initial brand purchasing decisions that could last a lifetime.

4. This market rewards niche marketers.
*Research data suggests that military spouses are much more likely to respond to advertising specifically directed at them as it shows a sense of appreciation of the hardships they must endure as military families.

5. Military spouses don’t just shop on base.
*Only 1/3 of grocery purchases of active and reserve military spouses are made in a military commissary.  The same holds true for other purchases.

6. We’ve got much more- but you have to ask before we tell.

Starting to get it?  Paying attention to this market could pay big dividends for your company.  We know this market better than anyone else does.  And we can help you reach it.  Call us (412.269.1663 ext 130) or Email us.
